The Estación Experimental del Zaidín (EEZ) is a research Centre of the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) Agency whose activity is mainly focused in the field of Agricultural Sciences. The EEZ aims at carrying out cutting-edge research in Biology (Plant and Animal Biology and Microbiology) and promoting the development of environmental applications as well as for sustainable agriculture and livestock production.

The EEZ is seeking a post-doctoral researcher with an outstanding career and leadership skills to conduct research in any of the following research lines:

1) Research on plant responses to abiotic (excess light or temperature, drought, salinity, high CO2, etc) and biotic (pathogens and plagues) stress factors, relevant in climate change.

This research line includes studies on plant tolerance against stress, signaling and regulatory mechanisms, stress-induced physiological, biochemical and gene expression changes and stress detection tools.

2) Beneficial plant-microbe interactions and environmental microbiology. Biotechnological strategies for environmental and agricultural sostenibility

This research line focuses in the study of the mechanisms underlying the establishment, regulation and function of the plant-microbe interactions, microbial diversity and ecology, biofertilization, bioremediation and biodegradation pathways.

3) Study of animal nutrition in terms of nutrient and energy metabolism and their impact on performance and product quality, and then on consumer health.

Diet requirements of livestock breeds of economic and social relevance and search for non-conventional economic and healthy alternatives in arid ecosystems.
